North Central Florida Breastfeeding Coalition 

On August 4th 2018, we hosted the first annual Gainesville Big Latch On at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. We had 70 babies latch on at the event and close to 200 total in attendance. These numbers were counted towards a worldwide count for the Global Big Latch On. On August 3rd, 4th and 5th 2018, almost 60,000 people around the world took part in the Global Big Latch On, demonstrating their support for breastfeeding. At the specified time, over 21,500 children ‘latched’ and were breastfed.
