Katelyn's Breastfeeding Journey

I was unable to breastfeed my first baby due to her being premature. So when I was preparing to have my second I was dedicated to making breastfeeding work this time around. While I was in the hospital with her, I asked every single nurse that came in the room if they has nursed their babies and if they did what could they teach me. It helped a ton.

After a couple of months, I had mastitis twice and my daughter was having trouble gaining the right amount of weight. I was so discouraged and was being told by my pediatrician that I needed to supplement because I was probably not making enough milk. I knew in my gut that there was something else going on. I asked her to check for a lip tie and she confirmed that there was one and once we got it clipped she was able to nurse without anymore problems and we successfully made it a full year! I was so proud of myself and so so tired.
